Note: The device is not currently supported by Sprint Smart View (SSV).

The device is set up to auto install the Novatel drivers required when tethered via USB to Mac or Windows based laptop computers.

1Tether the device to a computer:
Once the drivers are installed (step 2) , every time the Overdrive USB cable is inserted the computer, it will auto-connect to the Internet using a NDIS network interface.


Install Overdrive Drivers
Windows - Connected to the computer:
Turn Overdrive on and connect it to computer through the USB to Micro B cable.
If the TRU-Install window is not displayed in Windows Explorer:
Go to TRU-Install under My Computer.
Go to the Win folder and run Setup.exe.

Note: Windows Vista or Windows 7 and the AutoPlay window is displayed, click Run setup.exe.
In the TRU-Install window, click OK.
Follow on-screen instructions to install Sierra Wireless USB driver.
Windows - Wirelessly:
Using Wi-Fi, connect to Overdrive and log in to the home page (http://overdrive or http://192.168.0.1).
Click Advanced settings > Device > Basic.
In the TRU-Install section, click Windows to download the .exe file to the computer
Run the .exe file and follow on-screen instructions to install Sierra Wireless USB driver.
Mac - Connected to the computer:
Turn Overdrive on and connect it to computer through the USB to Micro B cable.
In the window that appears, double-click the .pkg file
Follow on-screen instructions to install Sierra Wireless USB driver.
When prompted for password, enter Mac password

Mac - Wirelessly:
Using Wi-Fi, connect to Overdrive and log in to the home page (http://overdrive or http://192.168.0.1).
Click Advanced settings > Device > Basic.
In the TRU-Install section, click Mac OS X to download the file to computer
If the Welcome to the Sierra Wireless Driver Installer window isn't automatically displayed, double-click the downloaded file.
In the Welcome to the Sierra Wireless Driver Installer window, click Continue.
Follow on-screen instructions to install Sierra Wireless USB driver.
Note: If using Mac OS X 10.4.x, after connecting the Overdrive, there may be a warning message that the computer is running on UPS backup battery and computer should be shut down..
User can still continue to work.
To prevent this message from being displayed, install the device driver using the Mac instructions above.
Open a browser and go to the admin page (http://overdrive)
Under Your Overdrive status, click Connect.
Note: The battery will not likely charge if the Overdrive is connected to the internet and WiFi is turned on.
When used in this fashion the device will need more power than the computer’s USB port can provide.
To conserve or charge the battery, WiFi can be turned off on the Overdrive and can be used as a tethered connection card.
