First-time Activation Programming Steps: Client Initiated IOTA
Note:
The BlackBerry Curve 8330 is Client Initiated IOTA 2.4 capable which should eliminate the need for manual programming.
The Set-Up Wizard will populate when the phone is first turned on.
Press the trackball on Remind Me Later to close down the wizard so the programming can take place.
Insert the battery.
If the phone is not turned on, press the Power Key that is located on the front panel of the phone to turn it on.

Once powered on, go to Applications > Manage Connections and ensure Mobile Network is On.
A check mark will be displayed to the left of Mobile Network if it is on.
If no check mark is displayed:
Scroll onto Mobile Network.
Press the trackball.
A check mark will appear next to Mobile Network and the services will turn on.
Once fully turned on, the upper right of the screen by the coverage bars will say 1XEV.
Press the Applications Button.
From the Main Screen, scroll to Options.
Press the trackball.

Scroll to Mobile Network.
Press the trackball.

Scroll to Mobile Network.
Press the Applications button.


Scroll to Start Provisioning.
Press the trackball.

The phone will start Provisioning.

When Provisioning completes, Press OK.
If any other error is displayed, follow the correct trouble shooting steps for that error.

Performing a ##RTN Talk Button
Press ## key twice.
Same button as letter Q.
Hold down the ALT Key and type RTN.
Press green Talk button.

Programming Info screen will appear.

In sView or CSM, from the Manual Device Programming drop-down list gather MSL information.

In the Master Subsidy Lock field of the Programming Info screen enter MSL Information, then press trackpad.

A Pop-Up Message will appear: Restoring the Device to Factory Default will Erase all the Personal Information.
Highlight Continue, then press trackpad.
The BlackBerry will start to wipe the phone.
The screen will be white with a status track bar showing the status of the device wipe
When the wipe is complete, the phone will reset.
This may take a couple minutes.
Once the handset powers on, turn on Mobile Network.
Hands Free Activation will start again
